PERFOMING ARTS AT CLARENDON COTTAGE PREP
Here at Clarendon Cottage Prep School we believe that it is important to encourage children to be inventive and to think in creative ways. We bring together the best of traditional and modern mediums in order to allow our children to express themselves creatively. Traditional mediums such as art, drama, music, and dance are highly valued whilst also encurag- ing and promoting new mediums of creative expression through our newly upgraded IT facilities and curriculum; encour- aging creativity through research, interaction and presentation. Our Performing Arts is crucial to school life as we see it as an opportunity for Clarendon children to gain confidence and explore their thouhts and feelings. As a result of this each class undertakes two drama productions each year; the Christmas Review and the Easter Review, performed in the school hall in front of the parents of the school. Furthermore, there is also a class assembly each half term in which participation is hugely encouraged. There is also further opportunity to express themselves creatively in the form of the opportunity to take music lessons and learn an instrument from two fantastic music teachers, or even join the drama club and participate in the successful annual production.
